On his latest single “Running,” Memoryy makes perhaps his most 80s faithful track yet. With drums that sound directly lifted from Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up” and reverbed vocals, “Running” borders on schmaltzy. There is a certain earnestness in the track. “Running” is produced with such exactness that it seems less like aping the decade and more like a track pulled directly from three decades ago.
