On December 1st, Mia Moretti will release her EP, Tambor. The second single from the record is “Rosa.” Originally recorded with a sample of Magín Díaz’s “Rosa,” sample clearance issues forced Moretti to go in a different direction. She enlisted Bullerengue legend Totó la Momposina’s granddaughters Maria and Oriana to resing her parts, while Momposina’s longtime collaborator and band member, vocalist Jorge Aguilar takes the lead line. The result is a track that bridges the gap between Colombia’s rich musical history and today’s dancefloors.
