Former Minutemen and fIREHOSE bassist, Mike Watt has started a “one-for-one” series of 7″ where he invites a long-time friend to cover one of his songs, and vice-versa. On the latest installation, Watt takes Papa M‘s jangle pop track “Long May You Burn” and makes a spoken word meets Appalachia folk cover out of it. It is not a track I imagine revisiting much but it is an interesting listen from one of punk’s most accomplished musicians.
