Twenty-three year old, Toronto-based artist, Owen Hooper (aka Mouth Breather) is preparing to release his new single, “Can’t Beat The Heat.” Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the track.
The song features indie folk verses that give way to a lush hypnogogic pop chorus. It essentially sounds like Mac Demarco and Ariel Pink collaborating on a track. Hooper said of the track “(it) is about how much simpler the world seems when you’re hanging out with your friends on a summer day. In times like this, it’s nice to remember what it’s like to cruise around with some pals and hop the fence at the local pool late at night for some skinny dipping.” That is a reminder we all need right now.
