Premiere: The Persian Leaps “Catnip For Cupid”

St. Paul power-pop duo, The Persian Leaps are preparing to release their upcoming LP Electrical Living this fall. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the album’s second single, “Catnip For Cupid.”

“The phrase ‘catnip for cupid’ actually came from the TV show, Arrow” explains the band. “Team Arrow was fighting a villain-of-the-week named Cupid. They needed some irresistible bait to catch her–some ‘catnip for Cupid.'” It seems only fitting then that the song is irresistibly catchy power pop reminiscent of The New Pornographers or Matthew Sweet. With its distorted power chords and tight vocal harmonies, the song is sure to defeat any blues you may have.
