Premiere: Sandy’s: Magic Mind

On June 11th, San Francisco band Sandy’s will release their album, Magic Mind via Royal Oakie Records. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to host the full album stream.

Steeped in the traditions of 80s synth pop and 70s art rock, the album shows influences of Roxy Music, Spandau Ballet, and Tears for Fears. That doesn’t mean the album sounds antiquated. Songs like “Sami & Sandy” has a modern beachy vibe reminiscent of The Mowgli’s and “Sunken Cathedral” has a wall-of-synth sound that evokes artists like M83. Regardless of what specific influences are audible, Sandy’s music is consistently catchy, interesting and epic.
