I was kind of hoping that Skatan would be a satanic ska band, unfortunately nothing could be farther from the truth. Skatan is actually a female singer/songwriter from Gothenburg, Sweden. On the first single off Skatan’s second full length album, Seven Trees, Skatan sounds a bit like a female Bob Dylan but with the addition of a lush string section. “Control” is the kind of indie-folk with a pop edge that seems appropriate in a climate that is so accepting of bands like Fleet Foxes and Mumford and Sons.
