Canadian multi-instrumentalist Strike Boogie just dropped his cover of Tears For Fears‘ classic “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.” He doesn’t change too much about the 1985 Billboard Hot 100 topping single. The reverbed guitar arpeggios are still there as are the iconic synth stabs. Boogie said of the choice “I wanted to put out my first ever cover song as something that is close to heart. As an 80’s kid, many of my favorite songs of all time came to be from that era with a handful that I knew one day I would perform. It is with great pleasure that I had the honour to cover Tears For Fears on a topic that could have easily been written for me or by me. Words that speak truth in the state of the world in which we live in today.”
