Everyone’s favorite Brooklyn-based jangle pop quintet, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, present their newest single in anticipation of their tour with The New Pornographers. “Summer of Dreams”, a victory lap B-side off the deluxe version of their latest album, builds on the foundation they laid on already-familiar ground (much of Days of Abandon played like a modern Cure record). It serves as a nice post-mortem for the season as we enter sweater weather.
“Summer of Dreams”, along with the other bonus material on the deluxe Days of Abandon, will be released on the Abandonment Issue limited-edition 10″. This EP drops October 17th and is available for preorder here, but fans will also be able to pick it up at the merch table during the band’s upcoming tour dates with The New Pornographers, detailed under the embedded track.
