Trevor Hambidge “Sailing Off The Edge Of The World”

Lisbon-based singer/songwriter, Trevor Hambidge recently released his single, “Sailing Off The Edge Of The World.” The song’s jangly guitars and jaunty drums are juxtaposed with the more serious lyrical content. Hambidge says “A happy sounding track about the frustrations of being a middle-aged man who has reared, and is now for all intents and purposes ‘spent’ in the eyes of modern society – and sadly, his own family.” A lyrical reference to “Spanish Main” is no mistake; Hambidge admits “the music was inspired by the soundscape of The Coral.” The track never gets quite as psychedelic as the Coral but it does deliver the same retro rock/pop goodness as the Merseyside band.
