Varley “Disease”

Berlin-based band, Varley are currently on tour with Madeline Juno so now seems as good a time as any to drop their final single before they begin recording their debut full-length. “Disease” was inspired by the writing of Gail Honeyman’s “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.” Singer Claire-Ann found herself sympathizing with the main character and the idea of modern isolation. Over a subdued instrumental, Claire-Ann meekly croons “loneliness is a disease and if you have it please don’t talk to me.” It ends up sounding like a dream collaboration between Snail Mail and Death Cab for Cutie.
