W.C. Beck (not to be confused with early 1900s comedian, W.C. Fields), recently released his album, First Flight. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the video for the album’s latest single “Steel Bird.”
After being a staple in the Portland, OR scene, “Steel Bird” gives W.C. Beck the opportunity to show off his new home, New York City. Although the alt-country song doesn’t scream city life, the video is filled with the sights of the Big Apple. We see Beck playing a white Fender Telecaster in the subways. Later he is playing an acoustic Gibson in Times Square and on a bench outside the Barclay Center. There are scenes of street performers and door men. While the visuals are interesting, the real star is the song with its gorgeous slide guitar and E Street Band-esque horns.
