Canadian native Andrew Shier and Australian Rhys Lintern started Walboom in Ontario before Covid-19 forced them apart. Working remotely they recorded an entire EP due out next year. The latest single from the EP is “Young Love.” A warm AM recording technique is juxtaposed by driving drums and a wall-of-guitar sound. It sounds like if Japandroids existed in the 1950s and you rediscovered a dusty vinyl of them today.
