Buffalo, NY’s Y.N.X. 716 teamed up with Long Island’s DJ Concept for his new EP, Conceptual Thoughts. The album’s latest single, “Mainstream,” sees Y.N.X. decrying commercial hip hop over a boom-bap beat. With a voice reminiscent of Nas, it is easy to hear the strong New York ties in the lyric-heavy track.
