Newcastle band, Fast Blood are preparing to release their debut album, Sunny Blunts. The second single from the album is “Salvation.” Mixing metal-infused guitar riffs with driving drums and steady bass, the track has a punk style reminiscent of Swinging Utters or Pennywise. Unlike those bands, Fast Blood is fronted by a woman, Abi Barlow. It is refreshing to hear a female voice in the generally male dominated punk scene. Her vocals cut through the distorted guitars like a knife as she sings “give me salvation, I don’t know my own mind” on the song’s catchy chorus.
