Glasgow multi-instrumentalist, Popcorn Fiend is preparing to release his debut album, Distance on September 18th. The latest single from the album is “Bear on Bear.” The track featuring the drumming of Ross Rankin who “is one of the best and most fearsomely entertaining drummers I have had the pleasure of playing with,” comments Michael MacLennan, aka Popcorn Fiend. “Ross plays with such ferocity I wanted to create a bank of electronics that he would effectively be playing against.” The distorted wall-of-sound that Fiend creates sounds somewhere between Sleigh Bells and Skinny Puppy. It is loud and abrasive but it still manages to be catchy which is no small feat.
