I got an email saying Jena Malone from Hunger Games put a new song out. My initial thought was “Jena Malone was in Hunger Games? I’m more familiar with her from The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys or Donnie Darko.” After that initial shock wore off, I realized I should’ve been pondering why she’s making music. Her new single as The Shoe is called “Paper Cup.” The solo acoustic track has shades of Kimya Dawson and Emiliana Torrini. Not the best actress-turned-musician track I have ever heard, but far from the worst.
