Los Angeles native, Trip Carter just released his new single, “HEAVYWEIGHT.” Although Carter promotes himself as a rapper and bassist, “HEAVYWEIGHT” is decidedly not a rap track. Instead like Andre 3000 releasing “Hey Ya,” the track is a poppy slice of neo-soul. Written during the pandemic, the track is about not carrying the burden of anxiety or hopelessness alone. He said, “I truly would’ve gone crazy if it weren’t for my loved ones holding me down. ‘Heavyweight; is about just that. It’s an homage to the ride or dies, whether that be your significant other, your best friend, or your family.”
