Ty Segall “Meaning”

Garage punk, Ty Segall, released an unsurprisingly boisterous track called “Meaning”. There is a drastic punch in the face first and then the tone of the song takes a 180 degree shift at mark 1:10. It starts out with a rounded upbeat drum tone with an intermittent cowbell and a wonky distortion on a seemingly sporadic guitar. You almost think it’s going to turn into some sort of 1950’s surf rock tune with his use of tonal bends. All of the sudden a massive wall of noise distortion sneaks up on you and you realize you’re not on the beach after all. “Meaning” will constantly have your jaw dropped in “WOW” position.
